Assignment No. 02
Due Date: 28 July, 2015 Assignment marks: 20
Mapping of your Family
Objective
The core objective of this assignment is to determine the ancestral links of your family and its impact on your socialization.
Background
Traditional family relationships are often explained through the exercise of preparing a family tree explaining the connectedness of members over the generations. Since, the world is changing on fast pace, the family relations and set-ups are also undergoing drastic changes. Family is not just restricted to kin and blood tis, other factors such as adoption, procreation and affinity are also determinants of family now. Regardless, most of our family members are related in some way, through marriage, birth or adoption. In this situation rather than making a tree of family, mapping of family is more effective to find out the ancestral links.
Activity
In this assignment, your task is to create some type of familial relationship chart (FRC/FMC)/map/image displaying your family connections. If you are unable to complete this assignment within your own family, please choose another family to work with.
Your FRC/FMC should include the following:
1. At least three generations of people.
2. Information for each person: full name & birth date; marriage date & death date if applicable. 3
3. A visual representation of the relationship connections (map/chart). 5
